Multi-hyphenate Chloe Jane is a rising talent in the dance-pop scene, and already has an impressive background. Pop artist, DJ, and professional figure skater, she is known as the ‘club princess’ in her home of New York.

Chloe’s inspirations include Robyn, Lady Gaga and Swedish House Mafia, and her sound is also reminiscent of Charlie xcx and Zara Larsson.

The brand new single ‘Middle Man’ showcases a synergy of euro-pop and personal themes. The accompanying music video will release on April 17th, in which Chloe rollerblades through the streets of New York.

Despite its light, polished production, the song deals with something heavier. Chloe discusses growing up mediating her parents' arguments, with lyrics such as “you look to me to keep you stable” and “she's just fine, you always see her smiling.”

On the latter of these, Chloe reveals:

“That line didn’t come from a writing session. It came from years of practice.”

She transforms these burdens into a catchy song with an electronic pulse and soaring vocals. A lyric that caught my attention was “a lot of pressure on my shoulders just at twenty-two.” This is a feeling I can relate to, being the same age - as well as the universal theme of wanting to leave your hometown.

Chloe obviously has an affinity with the club. This is no surprise, given that she began her DJing career at just thirteen when opening for Paris Hilton. Now an established artist in her own right, she continues to explore the therapeutic aspects of the dance-floor. By pairing these kinds of emotions with such an uplifting genre, she emphasises what the club means to her: a place to celebrate, and where everyone is united in their goal to simply have a good time.

'Middle Man' is part of Chloe's upcoming album Princess of the Night, set to release later this year. The title encapsulates both sides of her artistry - the emotional depth, and the bold sounds created for New York's nightlife.
